e want to publicize games from nonprofit organizations and are seeking nonprofit games - and people who'd like to help curate them: GAMES.NGO

GAMES: Nonprofit Games. Games are great at entertainment - and great at many other things as well! Games can inform, educate, persuade, and more. All of the games here have been created by nonprofit organizations (or by individuals for nonprofit purposes). These games are all completely free in order to reach as many people as possible.

The goal here is to feature games that are FREE. For-profit companies selling games or making money through advertising have budgets to market their games - the purpose of this new site is to provide some exposure to the nonprofits, individuals, and other groups who have something free that they'd like to share.

This site will remain ad-free and will strive to use as little tracking technology (e.g. cookies, beacons) as possible. There are several categories already in place and if you're interested in curating one of these sections please send an email with your interest and relevant background.

If you are interested in curating any of these sections please send me a brief email with your area of interest and any relevant background information by June 15, 2016.

Also, if you spot any glaring omissions or improper categorizations please let us know by July 1st; we want to provide a site that is as useful as possible but as it is populated it will become more difficult to make changes.

Note: the "Get in Touch" form on the site is just a placeholder for now - the messages won't go anywhere yet.

Best,
- Drew

Drew,

Just checked out your website. This will be a great resource. I am the Programming Director with the Utah Arts Alliance and have been working with a number of non-profit organizations on a "Community Building Game." (I recently posted in this group for more info)

Anyway, I deal with emerging artists on a regular basis -- often times they don't exactly understand how competitive and subjective the art world can be. I've been conceptualizing a game that addresses this lack of understanding. How can I submit a game to the "Arts & Culture" section? Can you tell me more of what this entails?

Great work!

Warmly,
Michael-
