Board Meeting and General Body Meeting Minutes - April 4, 2017

Hey Hackers,

   Here are the minutes from the board meeting and general body meetings on Tuesday. We voted in one new member, Yuri Blaise, so if you see him around be sure to say hi! And these minutes will also be on the wiki... as soon as I can get access to it. Let me know if you have any questions!

Board Meeting - 2017-04-03

Called to Order at 6:07pm.

Treasurer Update:

Quickbooks transition is in progre

Stripe Integration with Quickbooks is a possibility.

Discovered a member was making double payments on dues, member agreed to consider those payments as a donation. (Thank you!)

Looking into the rent at the North Shop.

Eddie to add Daniel to the bank account.

Secretary Update:

Receive updated address information from the board.

Complete Sunbiz form once addresses are received.

 

North Shop Discussion

Research needs to be done:

We need to know whats at the north shop, and who owns it.

Need to be able to control access to those machines.

Need to display safety information, minimize liability to the organization

Look into comprehensive liability insurance

How do other hackerspaces handle the more dangerous machinery?

Hard to make decisions without comprehensive list of machinery and ownership.

Possibility of a waiver given to people who loan equipment to the space, which tell them that the organization is not responsible for any damage that may happen to equipment left at the space.

Discussion on additional information we should ask from new members:

- How'd you hear about us?

- Background (career/degree/hobby)

- Interests ("Looking to gain experience with cnc", "Interested in electronics")

Action Items:

Liza - set up a meeting with Mark Davidson and Rick Fabiani about machine liability

Daniel - Inventory Project at the Dirty shop, discuss with Brian and Frank

- Check with Allen about last years taxes, needed for upcoming secretary paperwork.

Hoffman - Work with Daniel C. on the database project

- Submit the Sunbiz information

Eddie - Vending machine, and getting Daniel on the wells fargo account
