Hi All,

Funtoo bug 1130 (http://bugs.funtoo.org/browse/FL-1130) documents a weird display issue that I was experiencing with GNOME 3.6.

The good news is that, thanks to a good find by Kevin Parent in the NVIDIA driver README, is now fixed. There was a bug in cogl-1.12* related to compositing, that requires a patch to fix. Applied the patch, and the issue is now fixed.

Along with this fix, I've unmasked 3.13 kernels as well as the latest stable ati-drivers.

Some people may wonder why I didn't just start upgrading GNOME 3.6 to something newer. Besides the systemd issue, there is another good reason -- jumping ahead to new versions of software sometimes fixes one issue, and opens 10 more, and you are forever addicted to upgrade-itis. I'm happy that things worked out -- the goal is to have a stable baseline GNOME 3.6 that works well, and then we can look at moving forward from there, while maintaining stability.

Best Regards,

Daniel
