Hey Raphael,

I am planning on testing in the next few days. I have 10 Xenserver 6.2 VMs with six running Windows 2012 with two of them as Domain Controllers and four running Funtoo. I am interested integrating a Samba4 File Server with Active Directory. I meant to mess with it last week but I had to go out of town on business. I will keep you posted on how it goes.

Tony, 

I am wanting to test it without integration with AD, just like a conventional PDC. I hope that integration with PAM is quiet, because I'm out of patience to climb a whole OpenLDAP environment.

Hi Raphael,

I want to apologize for not replying to your request. I never did see it until I started testing and went through the emails.

Anyway I got Samba-4.1.6 working with Windows 2012 Server. I couldn't install Samba-4.1.7. I kept getting the following
error although it is installed:

Checking for system subunit   not found
ERROR: System library subunit of version 0.0.0 not found, and bundling disabled

I didn't have time to figure this out but Samba-4.1.6 installs just fine. I have my Funtoo server set up as a Domain Member
and was able to join to my Windows 2012 Primary Domain Controller (PDC) and see the users and groups in the domain.
I also set up a Home share and can access it from Windows. I am still testing things but it is looking good so far.

I will write down all the steps that I performed and post it tomorrow. Will the suffice for now? When I get some time I can
document it more formally.
