Thought I'd try experimenting with F# + PCL + Xamarin Studio today.

AFAIK, you need to get an existing fsproj file and modify it.

But where to get that sample project?  None of the ones I tried from the fsharp github project were loadable from XS:

Sample_VS2012_FSharp_Portable_Library/Sample_VS2012_FSharp_Portable_Library.fsproj

Sample_VS2012_FSharp_Portable_Library_upgraded_2013/Sample_VS2012_FSharp_Portable_Library_upgraded_2013.fsproj

Sample_VS2013_FSharp_Portable_Library_Legacy_net40/Sample_VS2013_FSharp_Portable_Library_Legacy_net40.fsproj

Sample_VS2013_FSharp_Portable_Library_Legacy_net45/Sample_VS2013_FSharp_Portable_Library_Legacy_net45.fsproj

Sample_VS2013_FSharp_Portable_Library_Legacy_net451/Sample_VS2013_FSharp_Portable_Library_Legacy_net451.fsproj

Its not currently supported.

Contributions to the open source addin can be made to make this happen though, a work in progress is on this PR: https://github.com/fsharp/fsharpbinding/pull/432

A fix to portable projects was made yesterday in the F# compiler, this is mentioned in the PR above too.

Contributions are very very welcome.

Dave.
