Thanks, Chester.  Good to know.  It sounds like most, if not all of us are without the required hardware to do this (usb mic & camera).  So, will it work for us to do it at the location where you're recording it from?

Cheers,

Elcaset

I have a webcam and headset/mic. my headset has two 1/8" plugs but laptop has a single jack so I just picked up an adapter at radio shack... $6.
Hopefully set, if Linux support is gtg for the hangout. I suppose it is flash or java based.

I just donated a linux-compatible webcam to Free Geek this past Saturday - Jon, it was in that bag of cables if you're interested.

I use Linux Mint and it works great on both Chrome (Chromium) and Firefox.  1/8" works but what counts is the sound quality.  If your laptop only has a single jack that would make it a speaker jack or a mic jack.  Never heard of a single jack for both.

Hello Jet,

Can you reconfirm the date of its tonight or next Tuesday 6/24? I believe a few of us can make it once the machines are setup properly for webcam.

Thanks,
Jon
