Hi,

Using 5.5.1b1 when I select "Check for Updates…" from the FoxtrotPro menu, I get the message that I am already using the newest version available.

"Notify me of beta versions" is checked in my application preferences.

Thanks

Alistair

Another thing (this is in 551b2 and several earlier versions)

In the preferences, whenever I click on "System Menu" it always switches on the Foxtrot search field in the menu bar.
I switch it off every time, but just selecting the "system menu" tab always activates it again.

Thanks

Alistair

Yes, 5.5.1b2 is a private beta for the members of our discussion group.

Will be fixed.

Thanks for the reports

How can I join the private beta group?  I've been using the professional search for years on my Mac and, mostly it's been OK.
But the crawler is still buggy and I'd like to help;  I'm attaching a log of some of the errors.  Maybe they can help you identify the cause.

Sir,

We have noted your interest and will contact you privately when we are ready to seed the next version.

In the meantime, if you have reproducible crawler issues, we are interested in seeing these. I know it sounds like an easy excuse, but we have found that some crawler isues really are due to bugs in third-party metadata importers which sometimes hog memory without releasing it for instance... and can be worked around by disabling the offending mdimporter in FoxTrot First Aid (option-command on launch).

regards,

jean michel/ctm qa
