Our IT guy at work has installed Foxtrot Server here, and it is fantastic at helping me locate old archived items, however, I'm not able to open or reveal the items in the Finder, I have to manually search for the items following the path indicated on the bottom right of the screen.

When I right-click on any object, I see this:

Is there a way to fix this? I need to be able to get to these files quicker than I am right now.

Thanks!

The path to the file is usually different seen from the server, and seen from the client machines, because of file sharing settings. Your IT guy probably needs to adjust the sharing settings in FoxTrot Admin, so the path can be automatically "translated" to be resolved on the client machines.

Basically, he should check the "File sharing integration" checkbox, and make sure that "Shared folder" and "Volume name" are correctly set.

For example, if the path of the file seen from the server is "/Users/Shared/CorporateServer/foo/bar", and the same file is seen on the client as "/Volumes/The Company/foo/bar" ("The Company" being shown as a mounted server), then "shared folder" should be "/Users/Shared/CorporateServer", and "volume name" should be "The Company".
