osx 10.9.5 update problems

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time to create an update tool. I tried this tonight with a fresh El Capitan install and no dice. Please see below:

Hi Gordon—

That's odd… I tested on a VM with a clean El Capitan install without any problem, so I figured this dylib was a part of the system. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Ah I'm out of touch with my OSX revisions. 10.9.5 is Mavricks. I'm getting confused with my work laptop that's El Capitan. So the error here should be failing on Mavericks 10.9.5

As a work around, I installed http://rudix.org/packages/dfu-programmer.html (couldn't be bothered with xcode setup again). This worked fine.
