Hey folks,

We are new to Fluentd and we are looking to follow best practices on event naming convention. We have a 28 server cluster having around 8 different subsystems (elastic, mysql, rest api, nodejs api, sendgrid event webook, kafka) and we are trying to search for best practices on naming convention and we found nothing. Could you let us quickly know about your approach here, I know lots of you are using different format, I don't want to open a debate on this, but we want to see how others are approaching this issue. We would love to see some practical usages like if we need to include version number of the REST api v2, v3 in our event naming, also if we want to add machine hostnames on the event line eg: api-8.event.count. We will primary use for event data shipping and not for log shipping.

event naming convention

What does this `naming` mean?
event tag, field names of event record or others?
