Can Fluentd replace rsyslogd

Is it possible to replace the rsyslogd that collects logs from the log server by fluentd alone?

It could be but it depends on the situation.

I know some users replace syslogd / rsyslogd based log collection with fluentd.

But I can't say all syslogd replacement are easy...
