xaxis timeline tick labels on top and bottom

Hi,
I am new to flot, and have been experimenting with creating a timeline chart with points.
My question is this:
My chart has a large height, so it's hard to follow the dates when scrolling through the page. I would like to display the 'timeline' ticks on both the top and bottom of the chart to help the use see the date range more clearly.
Is this possible with flot?
I have searched the web but couldn't find anything on this topic other than one feature request asking for a 'both' option to be added to the axis position element, but it appears this was never implemented because it doesn't work.
