Hi.

I am trying to import records from toolbox into FLEx, and get the following message when I try to import the records:
Warning: Problem importing from C:\Users\AppData\Local\Temp\LanguageExplorer\Phase4Output.xml. Warning: Expected <Integer val="..."/> here.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions regarding this problem.

Thanks,
Mike

I am having the exact same problem. My husband and I looked at the Phase 4 XML and did a little bit of testing. The number imports fine if I import it as string rather than a number. I have attached both versions of the Phase4Output XML file. We think that maybe, given the message of the error text,  the XML needs to look like this:
<CustomStr name="Number of Syllables">
          <AUni ws="en" type="Integer" fwid="Number of Syllables"><Integer val="1"/></AUni>
</CustomStr>
 instead of like this:
<CustomStr name="Number of Syllables">
        <AUni ws="en" type="Integer" fwid="Number of Syllables">1</AUni>
</CustomStr>
It looks to me like there could be an error in the Phase 4 process that produces the XML file. Too bad there's no way to tell the import process to start at step 5 -- then I could manually edit the XML file and find out. Whatever the cause, I'm pretty sure it is not a problem with the data.

Hi Mike and Sara,

I’m sorry you are both getting errors.  They can be addressed by sending the steps to recreate the problem and the data to  flex_...@sil.org.  Once we recreate the problem here, we will find out what is causing it and deal with it.  If your data is sensitive in any way, please let us know so we can take steps to keep it private.

Ann

Is flex_...@sil.org the right e-mail address?

When I send a message to it I get this delivery failure message:

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

     flex_...@sil.org

Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the relay ma3.wsfo.org by ma2.wsfo.org. [162.40.29.17].

The error that the other server returned was:
550 5.0.0 <flex_...@sil.org>... User unknown

Try:

flex_...@sil.org

That has an "s" that was missing from the one you used.

Randy, thanks for pointing out the error in the e-mail address. I was able to submit my data and problem description.

Michael,

I spoke with Ann about the error and it seems like it's really a bug in FLEx. I found a way to work around it, but it involves importing the number into a string field and then manually editing the XML file that stores the data. It would be possible to write a script to do it, but I'm not sure if I'm going to do it or not. I can provide the information you need if you want to do it yourself.
