Paul,
The problem is that currently in version 6 we have our variants ordered in a specific way (in the entry view): 1s, 2s, 3s, 1d, 2d, 3d, 1p, 2p, 3p, Passive. When we import that data into version 7 of flex, they maintain that order. However when we try to import the data into version 8 of flex, the entries show up in a random order, and there is no way to change them back to the order we need them to be in. After talking to Ann and Beth it's my understanding that there was a database structure change that is the reason for this.
The issue has been reported:
https://jira.sil.org/browse/LT-11498 and
https://jira.sil.org/browse/LT-18000 (a bit of a duplicate, I think)
I had put together a little bug report to try to explain in better detail what I'm talking about, you can view it here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JsT7Gz6W-pwawp0rUqtjUaVuSuwz8MqmYdIouu-n9-Y/editAs you can see, the bug was initially reported 6 years ago. I understand the constraints of open source volunteer software development, which is why I'm trying to at least get a copy of the last stable release of version 7 while this bug is being considered.
Hope this helps you understand why I need that file!
Best,
Scott
