Hello,

As you know, FlatBuffers neither publishes its Java API to the
Maven Central repository, nor provides a native Java compiler.
This makes it (almost) impossible to integrate it into
Maven/Gradle projects. To address this issue, I created
the following projects:
  • flatbuffers: An unofficial fork of the FlatBuffers Java API.
Maven artifacts are available via com.vlkan:flatbuffers:1.2.0-3f79e055.
  • flatc: Unofficial Maven artifacts for FlatBuffers compiler binaries.
You can access artifacts via com.vlkan:flatc-linux-x86_64:1.2.0-3f79e055
    and com.vlkan:flatc-osx-x86_64:1.2.0-3f79e055.
All the steps needed to integrate FlatBuffers into a Maven
project are explained in flatc page in detail. Comments are
welcome.

Cheers!

Thanks! We have plans to publish to Maven ourselves, but haven't gotten around to it.

How is this kept up to date?

I manually check Flat Buffers repository almost every day for updates. But I suppose, I will need to keep that up until a stable release. Then on, I will just need to follow major releases.

Hello Wouter,

Is there any timeline around the flatbuffers would be published to maven repository by the owners of the library ?

Thomas: there is no timeline for FlatBuffer features, this depends on community contributions, or otherwise when I get around to it.

I appreciate what Volkan's work, since I have no experience with Maven myself. Making this part of the main project is the next step.
