Flapjack web GUI do not show the email address

Hi,

Have a question again.

We have installed Flapjack 1.2.1. The issue we see now is that if we add a contact using a CLI (which uses the Flapjack-diner), then we can see the email in the list over contacts in the GUI, but if added via GUI, then the email is not shown (see picture 1). But if you click on the contact, then you see the missing email (see picture 2). 

(I removed the email address after the @ in the pitctures)

Flapjack does send mail to both contacts. 

Does anyone know the issue why the email is not visible in the list?

Hi Anders,

There’s actually two places you can set an email address for a contact. One is at the top level of the contact, and this is really just for identification purposes. Then there’s the email you can configure on the email media configuration for the contact.

Your email is not visible at the top level because it has only been set on the email media, by the looks.

Thanks for your, as usual,fast replay. It is true, our CLI sets the email both in media and for top level. But in the web GUI I can only set email in media. How can I set it, or make it visible, for the top level?

Hi Anders,

There’s currently no way to edit the top level email address for a contact via the Web UI. You can however view the top level email address for a contact on /contacts listing page.

If you have a burning desire to be able to view and edit this on the /edit_contacts interface, please create an issue requesting this. Or better still, submit a PR :-)
