Hi,

I am using gentoo. Is there a way to build/install flapjack from source? And besides redis, are there other dependencies for it to run? I would like not to have to use the gem install method. Thanks.

You can check out the source and run it from there (though you’ll have a few things to fix). You’ll need bundler to install dependencies, which means you’ll need a working ruby gem command of an acceptable ruby version (1.9.3 or greater for maint/1.x branch, 2.x for master). Why do you want to avoid installing as a gem?

You could also build a package for gentoo by adding support for it in the omnibus-flapjack project, which is what we use for building.
