Hi all
I wonder why no official way to pack air application to exe/app?
According to adobe's tutorial, it's very easy to implement:

It would be great because it opens whole new field to flambe — steam!

I assume Flambe itself doesn't support it because it doesn't support embedding assets either, and that's kind of a prequisite for this.

If you can get embedded assets to work using purplepwny's fork, you can always create an .exe by using one of the various tools that allow you to package a .swf as an .exe.

Embedding assets in the SWF itself isn't necessarily a prerequisite for desktop app support, where assets could live in a directory on the filesystem.

I'd really like to add Windows/Mac/Linux desktop targets, and maybe even out-of-the-box integration with Steam, Mac App Store, and other publishers!

Hm, true, but it would still require flambe to be modified to be capable of reading assets directly from the filesystem rather than fetching them over the network.

Omega, as i know from reading sources — flambe already supports local paths, so reading assets from nearby directories shouldn't be a problem.

Bruno, it would be great! Is this task somewhere close on a roadmap?
