Hi:

We’ve got a Fixit Clinic this Saturday Feb 24 at the San Bruno Public Library: can you Fixit Coach that day?

(and see the text-based announcement at the bottom)

This is the inaugural Fixit Clinic at the San Bruno Public Library and we’re graciously hosted with lunch, snacks, and refreshments by the San Mateo County Office of Sustainability.

- I realize the San Bruno Library might be quite a driving distance for some of you; let me know if tolls / gas are an issue and I’ll reimburse you.
- one coach is offering a carpool from Redwood City, let me know if you want to use that offer
- one coach is looking to carpool from south Los Gatos area, let me know if you can help out
- Parking: There’s no limit parking on the streets behind the Library: the Library also says they’ll have parking passes for us too if we want to park in the 1-hour area.
- The Library’s 1.1 miles from the San Bruno BART Station. Let me know if you’d like to come by BART and I’ll 1) arrange to have you picked up or 2) reimburse for Lyft/Uber.

Sign up to Fixit Coach at http://goo.gl/xS1MRK. And if you know anyone who’d make a good Fixit Coach: bring ‘em along!

Looking forward to seeing you.

Best, -Peter

Fixit Clinic CCLX (260) San Bruno Public Library

Fixit Coaches will be training in residence at the San Bruno Public Library and available for consultation on broken items.

Celebrating repair by conveying basic troubleshooting skills, Fixit Clinics are do-it-together hands-on STEM-oriented fix-n-learn community-based exploration and discovery workshops staffed by volunteer Fixit Coaches who generously share their time, tools and expertise to consult with you on the disassembly, troubleshooting, and repair of items.

So bring your broken, non-functioning things -- electronic gadgets, appliances, computers, toys, sewing machines, bicycles, fabric items, etc.-- for assessment, disassembly, and possible repair. We'll provide workspace, specialty tools, and guidance to help you disassemble and troubleshoot your item. Whether you fix it or not, you'll learn more about how it was manufactured and how it worked, ready to share your new-found confidence and insight with your friends, neighbors, and the community at large. (Hopefully you’ll be inspired to become a Fixit Coach yourself.)

- First-time Fixit Coaches and fixing families are always welcome; sign up at http://goo.gl/kwVNlv
- Even if you can’t make it: report your broken item at https://goo.gl/qhpUkR
