Hi Fixit Coaches:

There are two opportunities for Fixit Coaching in December:

1) 2014 Dec 06 Sat 2-5PM - Hercules Public Library: Head Librarian Alison McKee has found a local volunteer Brian Giusto [bgiu...@gmail.com] who wants to hold (computer-repair oriented) Fixit Clinics there regularly. This would be the first one, I plan to attend to support him and get him started: is anyone else interested?

2) 2014 Dec 13 Sat noon-3PM - Albany Community Center: Fixit Clinic (and (tentative) Holiday Party). I propose we run a Fixit Clinic from noon-3, then have it morph into a holiday party party from 3-5. The City of Albany is on board for the Fixit Clinic and checking to see if the room's available from 3-5. (It's OK if you just want to come for the party -- invite your family and friends either way.)

NEW RSVP SYSTEM: I've set up a Google Form here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1sVnRoEmZNP-4NJRA-ZOKkax4Zo5sp3ZzVPjvw8Mh7pc/viewform , please use that to respond; let me know if you encounter problems.

Hope to see you at one (or both!) of the events above, -Peter

Hi Peter,

I understand you are interested in coordinating a holiday fix-it clinic at the Albany Community Center. That would be great. We'd like to run it in mid-December so that we can advertise it in our winter Activity Guide (comes out the first week of December). Are you available on Sat, Dec 13?

Thanks for getting back to me...dec 6th looks to be good.  I am pushing my employer to see if I can get maybe the thrid Thursday of each minth as a solid lock.  This is a Union metting day therefore there is no work for ke on that day for sure...but tentative date of dec 6 th is looking good for me so far.
Just need to know if I need to bring hardware with or will the other tech bring hardware to repair or what...I agree we need to do a face to face to face to hammer out details.
Get back to me when you have a day locked down for us to all meet and discuss.
Thanks
Brian

Hi Brian,

Sorry for the delay in getting back in touch with you about the computer Fixit Clinic at the Hercules Library. I've cc'd Peter Mui who started the whole Fixit Clinic phenomena in the Bay Area. Here is info about them:https://www.facebook.com/FixitClinic

How about if we do the first one in Hercules on Saturday December 6th, say from 2-5? Let me know your thoughts.

Peter and I talked last week about having one of his Fixit coaches participate with you, but to be totally honest I can't remember what we settled on! (sorry, we're down a couple of staff members so I'm essentially doing 3 people's job, and not very well).

Anyway, I wanted to send this to get the conversation going between the 3 of us before too much time goes by.

Thanks!
