FITS 1.2.0 Released

Hello,

FITS 1.2.0 has been released and is available on the FITS website here. The downloads on the FITS website contain executable code and JavaDocs only. If you'd like to build the project, this latest source code is available on GitHub here.

 

This release will process and gather metadata for ZIP files and will transform to ContainerMD standard output. The embedded DROID tool has been updated to v.6.3 along with an update to its latest signature file to better identify file type.Deprecated methods have been removed from FitsOutput.java. There have also been other tweaks and bug fixes.

Dear FITS development team,

Some time ago I noted a problem with the encoding history part of the BEXT chunk.
When FITS ran it produced a message complaining about the termination characters even though it appeared correctly formed..
I am delighted to say that the current version of FITS no longer has this problem and I'd like to thank the team for fixing it.
