Will FITS incorporate tools from PREFORMA (PDF/A, TIFF and AV conformance checkers)?

Dear FITS-community,

 

Will FITS incorporate the conformance checkers from the European PREFORMA project (http://www.preforma-project.eu/)?

If yes, when?

The tools are:

• VeraPDF, a PDF/A conformance checker (http://www.preforma-project.eu/pdfa-conformance-checker.html)
•  DPF Manager, a TIFF conformance checker (http://www.preforma-project.eu/dpf-manager.html)
•  MediaConch, a conformance checker for audiovisual files (http://www.preforma-project.eu/mediaconch.html)

Hello,

Currently there are no plans to incorporate these conformance checkers. Given that FITS is an Open Source project, anyone is welcome to get the source code here, add it to the code, and propose inclusion into a future release.
