Unable to install Firebug

Since few days, I try to install Firebug on Firefox 3.6.2.
I go to http://getfirebug.com/ and click on "Install Firebug for
Firefox", but nothing happens.
So, I try to download XPI and try to save this file :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/downloads/latest/1843/addon-1843-latest.xpi
but I receive an error : "the source file could not be read" ...
Is there any working XPI somewhere ?

23,000 users download Firebug every day, so I am guessing the answer
is 'yes' ;-)

Perhaps your computer or network has some problems? There were reports
a couple of months ago about installation problems caused by anti-
virus software, esp. one version of a Kaspersky AV which has since
been fixed.
Or your Firefox is somehow not working correctly.

I guess addons.mozilla.org has some problem on one if its mirror
machines. The link from getfirebug.com to addons.mozilla.org fails
some times and works some times. If it fails for you, try again.

Or use http://getfirebug.com/releases/firebug ;-)
