Can't update in FB console window

Hi - I'm running FF 1.10.2 and I installed Firebug 1.10.0a3. I'm
completely new to this but I do understand that I can make changes to
my doc from the FB console, view the changes, then copy/paste the code
to my source doc. However, when I highlight what I want to examine and
go in to the FB console, the console window jumps from the code I want
to update back to the top of the page. If I scroll down to whatever is
highlighted it jumps back to the top of the page again. Am I not
understanding the process or am I doing something wrong? It's very
difficult to make any changes and it seems to me that it should be a
lot easier than it is. Thanks for your help!

I guess you're talking about the HTML panel scrolling to the top again. Right?
Please uncheck Expand Changes and Scroll Changes Into View from the panel options.
