Hi

I am running Firefox 46.0 and Firebug 2.0.16

I've been using Firebug for many years.  Suddenly, under the HTML "Computed" tab, I have only the Other subgroup - the subgroups for Text, Box Model and Layout are gone.  Also, I used to be able to open each property to see the assignment by line number of where the computed property originated, and the list of all assignments in weighted order.  I no longer see this detail, I see only the computed property value, not how it was computed.

These changes occurred in the last two days.  I uninstalled and reinstalled Firebug but that didn't correct the problem.

How can I correct this?  thank you

I'm running the same versions (Firefox 46.0 and Firebug 2.0.16) on the Mac, and having the same problems.

Are these problems going to be fixed in Firebug 2.x, or has all maintenance on it ceased, pending the Firebug 3.x rollout?

I don't think I've ever rolled back Firebug before. Can I simply swap in the older xpi file (fir...@software.joehewitt.com.xpi) from an archive/backup I have, or are there support files that have to be replaced too? Is there an archive of previous installers online somewhere? The "Firebug 2.0.15" link on GetFirebug.com seems to actually go to the download for 2.0.16.

Thanks.

FWIW, you can download all versions of Firebug here (down to version 1.0 if you want to ;-) ):
https://getfirebug.com/releases/firebug/

Note that in this case a downgrade doesn't help. It's a change in Firefox that caused the issue.

Hi Sebastian

Last night I installed Firebug version 3 beta.  Now I am learning my way around it.

While I'd rather not have to make that change, since it seems that is where Firefox/Firebug are going, my learning curve has started sooner than I'd expected.

Thanks for letting me know about the issue and linking to the other post on the same topic.

I don't know why people think that the Firefox DevTools are difficult to learn and use. Most of the features work the same or similar to Firebug and the Firefox DevTools team also targets to close the gaps between them and Firebug. Also, if you need help, you can always contact them on different channels. And if you believe, something is missing that Firebug has, you can create a bug report or answer to the thread I created last week.

Hi

It's not so much that they are difficult as they are different!  It's a human thing - after using Firebug for many years I'm in the habit of how it works.  DevTools while similar are an adjustment.  One that has now become necessary.  Thanks for the links.  I understand why the Firebug dev team has chosen to integrate with Dev Tools.  And I will make them aware of anything from Firebug 2 I find that doesn't seem to be available in Firebug 3.

thanks again

It looks like this has been fixed. The missing info is now showing again. Thanks to whoever fixed it. I find the firebug access to the computed info to be much more convenient that the Firefox access,

You're welcome, rodeored!
I agree that the Firefox DevTools should have an option to group the properties. This is filed as bug 977128, btw., if you want to track it. But I also like the filter option the DevTools' Computed panel has.
