We do not know for certain what the time frame for disabling NPAPI plugins is; the Chrome team hasn't really left any place open for us to discuss it that I have been able to find.

I can tell you, however, that npapi seems to be disabled on mac in the dev channel as of a week or two ago :-/

Firefox has not so far announced any plans to completely remove support for NPAPI plugins.  They have enabled click-to-play, but so far that's the extent.  Internet Explorer hasn't supported NPAPI plugins since IE 4 or 5, but FireBreath builds plugins as ActiveX controls for IE.  In windows RT mode IE (full screen windows 8 app) ActiveX controls are not supported, but we don't know of any plans to stop supporting activex controls in desktop IE.

Meaning Chrome version 38.0.2107.3 dev (64-bit) does not seem to work with any of the plugins I have tried lately.

Nothing to do with any other browsers on Mac.

Richard
