Database dashboard keeps resetting.

I created a new project and every time I go to the Database link it asks me to set up a new Datastore or Realtime Database. I click on "Get Started" for the Realtime Database and I'm prompted to select default rules (either completely closed or completely open). I did this over and over again, then finally put some of my own rules in and started testing out my front-end that adds data.

I removed all of the data from the database to start fresh and I was prompted to "Get Started" again and my previous rules were overwritten. Luckily, I suspected this would happen and copied the rules before clearing the data.

Is there any way to disable this setup and overwriting rules if I haven't added data yet?

Hi Brian,

Try accessing the console in Incognito. If that doesn't help, please send some screenshots or a video, along with any errors in the JS developer console to our support team.

Thanks for the reply Kato.

I sent an email to support an was told that it's a known issue with a flag in the Realtime Database. I'll keep an eye on https://firebase.google.com/support/releases to see when the database or the dashboard is updated to see if it's fixed then. For now, I just put fake data in my database until I add real data so the rules stick around.
