Just throwing this out there. Google needs to offer a certification program for Firebase. As a Cisco CCIE (#6824) I appreciate the value of Industry Certification. It works because it's a win, win, win; it benefits Enterprises, Engineers, and the Manufacturer, in this case Firebase App Owners, Web Developers, and Google/Firebase.

Enterprises / Website Owners want and need a way to consistently distinguish talent, they can't waste money hoping a new hire has the skills to do it right.

Engineers want and need a way to sell their services, they usually can't be burdened with sales/marketing - they must stay focused on keeping up to date w latest tech.

Google/Firebase needs the engineers to deploy and expand Firebase usage. The simple fact is that it is very technical and specialized skillset and Google ain't gonna take responsibility for all those apps/ppl.

So, that's my pitch.

Finally, I will never care about IOS or Android development so you would need to have 3 flavors of cert, Web, Android, and IOS.

...just my 2 cents.

Hi Ron,

Thanks for the feedback!  I've heard this from a few people and you have some good points.

While it's not the same as a full-blown certification program, we do have the Google Developer Experts program:

GDEs (as we call them) are experts in and advocates for a particular Google technology.  As you can see we've got about 17 Firebase GDEs already:
https://developers.google.com/experts/all/technology/firebase

If you're looking for a Firebase expert in your area they are a great resource!  They also tend to organize meetups where you will undoubtedly find passionate and knowledgeable Firebase developers.
