JS firebase Oauth based on Google Groups

I'm considering putting together a quick JS app for my workplace using Firebase. We use the Gsuite for internal accounts and email, and have a global Googfe Group for all staff. I figured using Groups to manage the list of accounts with access would be a clean and secure solution.

Does anyone know if it is possible to authenticate via Google Oauth and also perform a check of whether the person is also a member of a particular group?

Hi Thomas,

I don't believe there is any way to do this as a single operation, where sign-in would be tied to group membership.  But there is a GSuite API for determining group membership:

Maybe you could call that in a Cloud Function triggered by authentication?
