Firebase connection slow on iOS 10.3 devices only

This happens in my hybrid/phonegap app. Is there a new Content-Security-Policy setting I need to adjust? The connections are still fine on Android and on my web browser. But my users on iOS are all complaining that the download of data and login takes minutes when it used to be just seconds.
And they all said it was after upgrading their iOS to latest version.
Any leads?
