what to do when firebase is down?

Hi, 

Two days ago (4th of march) I couldn't connect to my Firebase for more then two hours because it was down: http://status.firebase.com/2031761

I'm using Firebase for a service that needs to be very reliable. I've seen more downtimes in the past, but this time it was unacceptable. 

Is there a way to connect to a different firebase server when the default connection is down?

First of all, I realize it's extremely frustrating when your app is down. Reach out to firebase...@google.com and mention this thread. I'll be happy to see what I can do to help.

Regarding migrating servers or some sort of redundant server fail-overs, that was discussed here by Andrew, one of the cofounders.

It would be nice if you could setup a listener that sends a message is firebase is down so your app can respond accordingly, like tell your user the service is down temporarily or something.
