How to remove domain association, after project has been deleted?

By mistake, I created two of the same project.

I linked my domain to hosting.

Later I realized my mistake, and deleted the account with domains still registered.

Now I want to association the domain with this new project, But firebase will not let me because they are still linked to that project.
