Has anyone dug into how Poplus.org components might be useful for legislative info sites?

While a number of parliamentary transparency website is various countries are leveraging - http://poplus.org/components - I haven't pick up on any activity at the state or local level in the U.S.?

Is this concept of "re-usable civic technology components" applicable to the U.S. legislative data scene or not so useful?
