I am a novice therefore I cannot figure this out on my own. What does this error mean and how can I fix it?

The URL you entered does not appear to be a valid feed. We encountered the following problem: Error on line 3: The element type "link" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</link>"

Also, my subscribers are not receiving any updates - so what good is subscribing right? How can I fix this?
