We are normally using the newest FDS6 releases.

But for compatibility and old simulations we need FDS5 on linux.
We found the compiled versions on https://bintray.com/nist-fire-research/releases/FDS-SMV/5.5.3/view#files
And mastered the LAM-MPI dependency (compiling from source: http://dl.ambiweb.de/mirrors/www.lam-mpi.org/7.1/download.php).

For optimizing parallelization on our NUMA hardware we'd like to compile the latest FDS5 version (FDS5.5.3 SVN Revision Number: 7031).

Please point me to a download location of the source code (could not find it on github).

Thank you very much for your help!

Kind regards
Thomas Grausgruber

This version of the FDS source exists in the git FDS-SMV repository.  The trick is to determine which revision to check out.  You should be able to figure this out by looking at the date when 5.5.3 was released and dates in the git repo logs.

So we think it might be the SHA1 ID
60c6f87323858de57e1885836e910b49dec53c09
which is related to date 2010-10-31 19:25.

Here is an example, say you are interested in r4738

Then you do this in your terminal
git log --grep="FDS Source: Simplify wall cell search algorithm in OPEN_AND_CLOSE."
commit 1406c9a3edf6de27bd73c7ff5302138a3b8b583b
Author: mcgratta <mcgr...@gmail.com>
Date:   Tue Sep 15 14:34:23 2009 +0000

FDS Source: Simplify wall cell search algorithm in OPEN_AND_CLOSE.

    Former-commit-id: d949192da93a0382b0d646e358d63b6cb33c19e2 [formerly a417636
    Former-commit-id: f4c96cb98d4acf5cb2742664fe5a3fbc979346cf
    Former-commit-id: 6bb7b1b54f5e5d1c6afe6ae08fd06e9452b5d591

Then you do this:

[salah@jbk27s092 fds]$ git checkout 1406c9a3edf6de27bd73c7ff5302138a3b8b583b
Note: checking out '1406c9a3edf6de27bd73c7ff5302138a3b8b583b'.

You are in 'detached HEAD' state. You can look around, make experimental
changes and commit them, and you can discard any commits you make in this
state without impacting any branches by performing another checkout.

If you want to create a new branch to retain commits you create, you may
do so (now or later) by using -b with the checkout command again. Example:

  git checkout -b new_branch_name

HEAD is now at 1406c9a... FDS Source: Simplify wall cell search algorithm in OPEN_AND_CLOSE.

Check out your files, you will see that you went back to that commit.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Salah
