Hi,

Do you want feedback/bugs etc. about FC7 posted here or to the bug tracker?

I had a chance to have a bit of a play today and noticed a few small issues here and there.  Most of them are probably things you already know about.  e.g. Edit HTML page and insert an image part way down the content and it's inserting it at the top of the page.  Edit an image and all the labels for title etc. are in a different font and layout isn't right. (only tried with IE10 so far).

Really like the new look of the webtop and the HTML editor!

One thing I want to suggest is maybe rethinking the drop down box /button for selecting or creating a new item in Associated Media or Content.  At the moment the drop down has -Create New- selected and a button next to it "select".  I've noticed user sometimes get a bit confused about this layout.  e.g. to create a new item do I select "Create New" and click Select?  If they do this they are taken to the library to select an image.file....but they thought they were going to create a image / file.  It all just seems a little confusing.  Maybe if there was something between the drop down and the select button so it didn't look like they belonged together?

Cheers
Mark

Feel free to post things here for now, perhaps after the beta is released we can start logging JIRA tickets.

So it's the position the image is inserted in TinyMCE that is wrong?

This is probably the case with all modals inside modals at the moment, known bug :)

Yeah the select box is terrible, people always naturally want to click the button... We'll probably make this into a button that has a drop down on it. This is definitely on the list.

cheers,
Justin

Might be worth holding off specific bug reports till we release an official beta -- there's a lot of clean-up going on and most obvious things are known issues.

However, any general feedback on the design, layouts, features etc is very welcome -- either here on farcry-dev or the HipChat room.

Thanks Justin and Geoff.  I will hope off on logging tickets.

With the image, yes.  I've attached a screenshot where I had the cursor on the 4th line and then selected insert image.  In the second screenshot you can see it's inserted it in the wrong spot.

Glad to hear the create/select button will change as it wasn't always contributors that had to stop and think, I would often do it myself. :)

Cheers
Mark

Is that behaviour limited to IE?

Hi Geoff,

Just tested it again and yes, appears limited to IE.  I'm using IE10.

Tested with Firefox 23.0.1 and Chrome 31.0.1612.2.

Cheers

Sounds like a tinyMCE thing... i wonder if it happens in the current tinyMCE version?

You mean the one in 6.3? If so, no, that version works fine with IE10.

If you get a moment it would be great if you could test IE with tinyMCEs default demo on their site -- then if it works there we know its an implementation bug on the farcry side.  Otherwise we can try and escalate with tinyMCE directly.

Hi Geoff,

I just tried the demo site and it worked fine with IE10.  The image inserted correctly part way down the body (camera in the screenshot).

Sorry :)

This should be fixed now. The problem was with the jQuery plugin that comes with TinyMCE, and switching to the basic JS embedder solved the problem.

Cool, thanks Blair.  I’ll grab from Git and give it a go this afternoon.

Have a great weekend.

Works well. Thank you.

Do you still prefer tickets aren't created for bugs while in alpha? I ask because I noticed another small issue.

I wanted to see if I still couldn't add more than one email address to the "Administration email", "Bug email" or "Error email" fields in the general configuration (which looks like I can't). When I tried to save the form it wouldn't save but I didn't get any message as to why.

I confirmed it's not just IE10 this time :)

Have a great weekend.

Mark
