Hi,

We are currently evaluating the FaceGen modeller free version but I am a little confusing about the current version and features offered on the paid version so can somebody advise about the following ?

1) The demo version is version 3.10 however it seems to be missing all the details map modulation features and texture overlay features listed on the version 3.5, so I am wondering if those features are still available and how one can we edit the details map on the new version.

2) FaceGen +  Mixamo Fuse, is this feature still available on the current paid version ? Is there a way to trial that feature ? Is there a tutorial showing how to export a face to Fuse ?

Thank you

Carlo

Hi Carlo, in answer to your questions:

1. The pre-made detail 'texture' maps (ie. if you're not using the one created from a photo) are available in 'Create' -> 'Texture'.
There is currently no modulation slider but this can be added if there is demand for it.

2. Yes, this is still available in the paid version. It is not currently available for trial as part of the demo version.
We do not have a tutorial video for it but you can review the instructions here:
If you'd like to try a run-through, please email an FG file to 'sa...@facegen.com' requesting a Mixamo Fuse export for evaluation.

Best wishes,

Carlo

Thank you for the quick answer,

Yes, I believe it will be very extremely useful if we could get access to another control in the tween windows to blend also the detail map with another FG, basically offering the full control on morph, color and also details map separately, let me know if this is a kind of feature that could be implemented. Regarding Fuse, I read over the link, can you let me know if the model OBJ exported will be also including the eyes and include the texture map or not... as far as I remember, the fuse model has separate eyes.

Kind Regards,

Carlo

Also... it seems that there is no UNDO (unless we missed the key to press) when being in interactive mode. Since it is easy to make a mistake, do you think think an "UNDO" could be implemented too in the software ?

Carlo, thank you for your feedback.

We'll look into adding detail map blending in 'Tween'.

The Fuse mesh export is the same mesh from Fuse ... just with a custom face and texture image applied.

'Undo' functionality will be added soon.

Best wishes,

Thank you very much.

I heard that Mixamo provided a new custom creator pack for their new Fuse CC, will you update your mesh data to support their new version ? What about the morph feature if we plan to export for Fuse, can we export them too ?   Finally, please consider to put back some of the main features listed in http://facegen.com/modeller31_help.htm, like genetic tab and overlays, really those look neat features and would like to see them available.

Kind Regards,

Carlo, thank you for your feedback.

Mixamo was bought by Adobe so we'll have to see what they do with the product.

The new version of Modeller can do texture overlays; add them as color files in a custom model set directory:

We'll certainly be adding features over time, so  the Genetic tab may return.

Best wishes,
