First, thanks a million for making such a useful product. Updating to the Gen 2 figures was a huge step forward. Any plans for adding the new Gen 3 characters to your bag of tricks? Sure would be useful.

Adding daz3d's genesis3 figure would be an option for german identikit, too. But in my opinion this option, exporting to daz3d, should also be possible from facegen modeller. There is no reason to make a special application like facegen artist. Integrate this into modeller and sell it as an extra option for modeller, maybe facegen modeller pro. This would optimize the workflow extremely. Only my 2 cents.
Best regards,
Peter

Peter, thank you for your feedback.

The reason we made a separate product is so artists can make use of FaceGen without shelling out $299 :)

In terms of workflow, what controls would you use with Artist that are currently only in Modeller ?

We will in future migrate more of them to Artist so there should be no need to switch back and forth.

Thanks for your answer.
First of all I need to see the whole head shape, not only the face. this is very important, but not possible in Artist.
Next I need to have different types of textures for the skin, this is offered only in Modeller, as well as different lighting options. From identikit point of view it would be great to have these two options increased, i.e. adding own skin textures, editing existing ones and having colored light sources as well.
Finally an editable neck is also very important to have for the overall look of a suspect.

Modeller offers very much for me, what I need in future I sent you on an email list some weeks ago. I wish you would add the daz3d export option to Modeller, this would make my day. :-)
Btw, Artist's user interface is not as neatly arranged as Modeller's, too much scrolling because of too big letters compared to Modeller (working on a 15.4" laptop display). Modeller seems much more cleaned up to me.

These are the reason why I always have to use Modeller first. To transfer this result to Daz3D, I have to save Modellers result, reopen it in Artist (at the moment), and export it to Daz3D. This makes my workflow a bit time consuming. So an export function directly from Modeller's interface would be great. :-)

Best wishes,
Peter

Peter, thanks for that.

We can certainly add whole head shape to artist. And skin textures.

We can make the face editing part basically the same as Modeller.

We will consider your suggest to add daz export into Modeller in a future version but note that in the context of selecting different model sets that can be confusing.

We will add color lighting controls to Modeller in future.

An updated version of Modeller will be released soon. It's been a long time because we've had to re-write the GUI for technical reasons. All current customers will receive the beta test invite. The upgrade will be free.

The new GUI will look more like FaceGen 3D Print. This layout is easier to use for first-timers, but we will see if we can address your issue with big letters with some kind of sizing option. Note that a lot of new laptops and tablets have very high screen resolution so larger letters are useful in this context.

Best wishes,
