Thanks to everyone who replied on the quota issue:

Dela Acolatse, Bryan Lavelle, John Venier, Robert Bumpus, Derk Tegeler, Jeff
Spence.

The general consensus is that this is a known, and common error that is
harmless and can be ignored. It sounds as if Compaq is also aware of the
issue as well. However I did get a couple of responses that explained
possibly how to get rid of this error. See Below:

This message is just an irritant, doesn't reflect a problem. You MAY be
able to get rid of it by properly using user and group quotas, i.e. build
quota option into kernel, turn quotas on in rc.config, add userquota and
groupquota options to all advfs filesystems in your fstab and then run
quotacheck -a. I've seen it fix the message and not fix it as well.

Jeff Spence said:
By design AdvFS checks for quota inconsistency.

To address the problem: set up quotas, run quotacheck, and then quotaoff.

1. Set the QUOTA option in /sys/conf/HOSTNAME. Rebuild kernel if required.
2. Using rcmgr, set quota option to yes.
#/usr/sbin/rcmgr set QUOTA_CONFIG yes
3. Edit /etc/fstab, add quotatas to the fileset so it is mounted with
quotas. This should be done even if you are NOT using quotas
(dmn_users#users /usr/users advfs rw,userquota,groupquota 0 2)
4. umount and mount the fileset to enable change
5. #quotacheck -v /usr/users (or whatever the fileset is)

Then quotas can be toggles off/on usong quotaoff/quotaon

Subject: chk_bf_quota: group quota underflow

Managers,
On occasion I get the following error:

chk_bf_quota: group quota underflow for group 7 on fileset /

All my file systems are running ADVFS, and I do not have quota's enabled.
Group 7 is the terminal group. Has anyone seen this error before? What can
I do to correct this problem?
