I just wanted to inquire about whether there is a rough estimate/update for when the only_display query parameter will be available in V3. I am noticing a significant response latency increase for event queries returning 10+ events because the description (text and html) is always included (because of increased response time).

Thank you in advance!

Hi there!

We've introduced the concept of Expansion parameters, which is the way that developers can explicitly determine which information is returned: http://www.eventbrite.com/developer/v3/reference/expansions/

There are some limitations here of course -- if you're calling an endpoint requesting the Events object, there is no way to only receive part of the Events object. Sorry about that!

Hi Mitch,

Thank you for the info. Please consider allowing users to limit the Events object response to a subset of the available default fields (specifically, to omit the html/text descriptions) at some point. This will make the API more suitable for low-latency scenarios.

Thanks,
Dmitrij
