Hi,

Eureka documentation (https://github.com/Netflix/eureka/wiki/Configuring-Eureka-in-AWS-Cloud) recommends "at least one Eureka Server per zone". When deciding the number of availability zones per region and the number of Eureka instances per zone, what factors do I need to consider?

Is there a hosted Eureka service available?

Thanks,
Paul

This ultimately depends on your application's requirements and how resilient you expect it to be. To survive single zone failures, you should deploy your applications at least in two of them, and accordingly at least one eureka server per zone.
The number of eureka servers per zone depends on the number of the instances you have, and the type of servers you are using. If you have less than 5k servers, you could start with one m3.xlarge (high networking performance) node per zone. If you have more, pickup bigger instance type with better network performance, and if needed add more servers per zone.

As far as I know, nobody provides hosted Eureka service.
