Release 2.0.0 ?

Hi,

Are there any objections to merging devel into master, and tagging it as 2.0.0 ?

I'll wait a few days and then go ahead unless someone would like to
'veto' it, with some motivation.

It looks like devel has 3.0.0 for the version, so .... I'll just go
ahead and use that when I merge it.
