I am now consistently getting the following error in a build of an application:

Preparing C compilation using already configured mingw C compiler...
      0 [main] us 0 init_cheap: VirtualAlloc pointer is null, Win32 error 487
AllocationBase 0x0, BaseAddress 0x68560000, RegionSize 0x2E0000, State 0x10000
C:\Program Files\Eiffel Software\EiffelStudio 17.05 GPL\gcc\win64\msys\1.0\bin\make.exe: *** Couldn't reserve space for cygwin's heap, Win32 error 0

I have cygwin 64-bit installed; I don't know exactly what is going on here though - the above version of make appears to be Studio's own copy.

At the moment I cannot generate an exe...

Anyone seen this? Is there some config that needs to be modified?

It is an issue with cygwin tools in general, once in a while on a machine they fail with this error. The solution is to rebase the Cygwin dll. Follow the recommendations here:

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/18502999/git-extensions-win32-error-487-couldnt-reserve-space-for-cygwins-heap-win32

Let us know if this solves the issue.
