Hello everyone,

I'm struggling to register on Cerbère with my eID. I tried on 6 different PCs (Windows 7 and 10) with Firefox, Chrome, Edge and Explorer with 2 different card readers and 2 different cards. I've installed everything that's necessary. Here the java-log:

Welcome to the eid reader...

The recurrent error is Not Enabling PCSC library fix and Exclusive access has already been assigned to Thread Thread-17. With the other card, it was Thread 21.

I would be so glad if you could help me.

Hello Seba,

What software are you using to authenticate with your eID?
(I don't know Cerbère, so I'm not sure they use our middleware in the authentication process)
Our software can be found at https://eid.belgium.be/en

For our middleware, there is no need to launch a eID Viewer in order to authenticate, in fact, from the log you posted, it looks like the viewer you use is keeping exclusive access to the eID card, effectively blocking any other application from using pcsc to access the eID card.

If you would like to test the correct working of our middleware:
Could you try to install our middleware, close any eID viewer you have running, and run the test login at https://eid.belgium.be/en ?
(or the one at test.eid.belgium.be (this is just a test, the one above does a real login))

Wkr,
 Frederik

The login test is indeed succesful. Does that mean that the error is to find on the Cerbère-site?

Thank you very much.

Hello,

As you can use our middleware to authenticate to the Belgian government websites,
I think it is best to contact Cerbère indeed in order to authenticate to their site.

Just so you know, I had the same error message trying to create an account on Cerbere.
I just called the support service and apparently the problem comes from the card reader (which is a Belfius reader).
So if someone, like me, had the same problem this year, don't hesitate to contact Cerbere and see with them which program you need to install to fix the problem - or try with another card reader :)
