Greetings!


We would like to invite you to Google Earth Engine Mini Summit in Tokyo 2018 hosted by the Google Earth Engine team from 15th to 16th March, 2018.


This Mini Summit will bring together specialists, researchers, educators and students in GIS and remote sensing in Asia-Pacific region. We hope this two-day hands-on technical workshop, presentations by guest speakers and hackathon will help you to advance your research or projects using Google Earth Engine.


Hands-on workshop will be led by Google Earth Engine experts like Nick Clinton from Google Earth Engine Developer Relations team. We designed two breakout sessions to collect, analyze, visualize the data by Google Earth Engine according to your skill level. It will be useful not only for beginners but also for advanced users. And you will be able to use your new knowledge during Remothon (Remote sensing X Hackathon) in the afternoon of the second day with other participants.

This is an opportunity for you to learn how to use Google Earth Engine and connect with other researchers and students in Asia-Pacific regions. We hope you can join us!


When:

March 15th, 2018 9:30 – 19:30

March 16th, 2018 9:30 – 19:00

The time may be subject to change.

Where: Google Japan at Roppongi, Tokyo

Cost: Attendance is free. The participants need to cover the cost of any travel to and during the workshop, such as airfare, hotel accommodations, etc.

To ensure an effective hands-on experience, there  is a limited number of seats, so we may not be able to accept every workshop applicant.

Who should attend?:
Specialists, researchers, educators and students in GIS and remote sensing in Asia-Pacific region.

Applicants should meet one or more of the following requirements:

  • Are currently working on geospatial projects (of their own or with students/collaborators), or have datasets they want to map and analyze.

  • Have used Earth Engine in the past and want to share your knowledge and learn more.

  • Have knowledge of Earth Engine and intend to train others within their institutions.

  • Have intermediate-to-advanced technical experience of GIS or remote sensing/image analysis experience.

IMPORTANT:

This Mini Summit will be held in English without translation.

We will notify details only to the accepted participants by February 6th 2018.
