*Apply now for the ‘Geo for Good’ User Summit*

An exciting opportunity is coming up in September: a special three-day
hands-on technical workshop hosted by the Google Earth Outreach team.
Our first annual Geo for Good User Summit is designed for mapping and
technology specialists in the public benefit sector, who are actively
working on projects related to mapping.

Led by the Google Earth Outreach team (with special Google guests),
this workshop will teach highly practical tools, which organizations
can use to collect, host, analyze, visualize, and publish map data
using the power of the cloud. Special attention will be paid to new
Google tools available for nonprofit organizations, including Google
Maps Engine, Google Earth Engine, and others.

What: Geo for Good User Summit
When: September 26-28, 2012
Where: Google Headquarters, Mountain View, California

As the public demands economic accountability and sustainability,
organizations need tools that help scale their work, make their data
more accessible, and increase transparency. The Rio+20 agenda
recognizes that it is ‘essential to work towards universal access to
information and communications technologies.’ This side event features
key organizations at the forefront of the application of these
technologies, working on the ground to develop means to enable
citizens, businesses and governments to harness the power of the
cloud.

Discover free, open source or software grants for tools that allow for
managing, analyzing, cartographically styling, sharing and hosting the
data in the cloud infrastructure. Learn about the latest technologies
that enable better governance through transparency, accessibility of
information and scalability of technologies. Learn how maps can change
the world.
