Hello

Can anyone recommend any websites or books available in Arabic on the subject of Science (GCSE level)?  We have a budding doctor who is struggling to understand English and don’t want to waste any time…

Many thanks

Katie

I would suggest linking up with your nearest supplementary school as a starting point.
You can search for your region and target language on the site. Even if they can't help or are too far away to support directly, colleagues there may be able to advise and do some QA on sites you find on the internet.

Also there are some bilingual Muslim schools in the U.K. and also some international schools are bilingual. Worth checking out those networks .

Good luck!

Here's a way! Use our new Translation App!

First, select say between 1 to 100 terms that are essential for the student. Then, define each term in English in say Word and 'copy all'. Then, Paste into the translation app. Then, select Arabic from the list of Languages. We will ensure that an Arabic speaker, specialising in Scientific/Academic level translations, will make the translation.
There is a price, but at least you can ensure quality. The price is our usual £0.10 per word.
We would return the translation within a week (for 100 terms) and a day for up to 30 terms. The advantage is that you select the appropriate words needed for the moment. When you need the next set just go through the same process. Unlike Dictionaries, you control the words. (Again, an example of community publishing!).
If the student had our PENpal or the RNIB PENfriend, s/he could start to build up their own talking Arabic English Dictionary. The teacher could record the English, give detailed explanations orally and keep changing the recording as the student becomes more proficient. So, the Dictionary becomes dynamic, personalised to the individual student's proficiency in English.

This way, you get the words you need quickly and to a high standard (the only minimum we ask is that there should be a sentence at least to translate.) By making the number of words flexible, you are just ordering bite-sized amounts. We will send you a word document with English and Arabic for the student to build their own dictionary. They could add drawings, photos, notes and....
our re-recordable stickers against each term. So they build their own Talking Dictionary.

PS: please contact bra...@mantralingua.com if you would like a free the various Apps and our dual language ebooks.
These are really unique. The Site Licence Welcome Booklet App cost £20 for the first language,£10 for 2nd to 9th language and £5 from the 11th language per calendar year. There are no e-books like ours, with videos, activities and text spoken in English and the home language. ebooks start at £2.50 per year and if you bought a collection, £0.08 per year.
