Ideally, for ERP research, I would recommend just using a slide with the image/circle and adding an extra slidetext near the bottom right corner. I’ve done similar checks with EEG research (though not with E-Prime, or the Chronos) and had good results offline adjusting the onset of images.
However, if you want to draw multiple things on a canvas anyway, the trick is to have two: one buffer canvas (which is never shown) and one “final” one. You keep drawing to the buffered canvas (e.g. at the beginning of the trial) and when the time is come to actually show stuff, you copy the canvas from the buffered one to the final one: boom, everything shows without delaying with every extra drawing. The first 3 E-Prime experiments I still have online probably show this in action (provided they still work, I haven’t checked in the last 8 years or so):
