Hello,

I am creating a task where I need a video clip to freeze at a specific time point and depending on a key press, I need the clip to either remain frozen for a specific amount of time, or continue playing to completion.

Can this be done? And what would be the best way to go about this?

Thanks!

Debby,

Unlike SoundBuffer, the MovieDisplay object does not seem to have a
Pause method. It does have Stop, Draw, FramesDisplayed, FrameRate,
StartTime, and Play methods/properties, so for all I know someone could
marshal these to do what you want. (See the MovieDisplay topic in the
E-Basic Help facility -- you will have to use Search to find that topic
as it does not appear in the Index.)

Please ask PST Support about this, and report back here with their
response. Bear in mind that, unlike a regular digital movie player,
E-Prime tries to handle everything with millisecond accuracy. I don't
know if other platforms (e.g., MATLAB, PsychoPy) do any better under
this constraint.
