ERROR 18031: Unable to communicate with thread that finds the sound buffer contents

Hi,

While writing and running a McGurk experiment, thus using the presentation of videos, in E-Prime 2.10, I keep on getting this error:

Unable to communicate with thread that finds the sound buffer contents

Extra1:576000

Extra2:372736

Extra3:2581330

Extra4:No

Extra5:372736

Error number: 18031

There's no documentation of this error online and previous questions on this forum remained unanswered.

Does anyone have a clue what might cause this error?

I'm using .mp4 and .mov videos which are clean and run perfectly.

Some extra information that can possibly give a clue about what the problem is:

Rebooting the computer helps, now he can run for about 40 trials (instead of 20 à 15 trials and in the end only 1 trial before the error pops up) but now he simply freezes.
The program does not react and I have to ctr+alt+delete my way out of it.
